The second annual Best Buddies Mother’s Day Brunch was held Saturday at Liane and Richard Weintraub’s estate in Malibu.

Malibu locals and visitors enjoyed the occasion, supporting Best Buddies International and mothers everywhere.

“Today we celebrate mothers all over the world, especially the incredibly strong and loving mothers who have been blessed with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” Best Buddies Founder and Chairman Anthony Shiver wrote.

The event was hosted by Best Buddies International Celebrity Ambassador Vanessa Hudgens, Gina Hudgens and the Weintraubs, along with the support of many other hardworking celebrity women.

Actress Minnie Driver spoke about the organization and her television series “Speechless,” bringing awareness to those who may not understand what it is to live with a family member who has a disability.

“Best Buddies is an extraordinary organization, to be freeing people from a social isolation and an economical isolation and physical isolation,” Driver said.

“And now here we have shows like ‘Speechless,’ that are in the social lexicon, they’re in people’s homes, and I’m very glad to be part of that, I’m glad that its changing the conversation and that we realize that we’re not so very different, that families are built on love,” she continued.

Diane Mayor received the Best Buddies Mother of the Year Award later in the program.
