The Regional Water Quality Control Board hearing on the proposed construction of a sewer system in Malibu has been moved from this week to Nov. 20. The date change is due to a technical issue regarding how far in advance the public must be notified of the meeting.
The nine-member Regional Water board will be voting on a proposal from its staff to begin the process toward the construction of a sewer in Malibu. Also, the staff has recommended that the city not be allowed to issue wastewater discharge permits for commercial projects.
The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California headquarters, located at 700 North Alameda St. in downtown Los Angeles. The agenda can be accessed online at www.swrcb.ca.gov/rwqcb4; under “Announcements.”
