A hiker was found dead at Thornhill Broome Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) responded to a call about a possible hiker down in the Thornhill Broome Beach area.
“Around 3:39 p.m., we were able to hike up and reach the patient, who was approximately 40 feet up the dune,” VCFD Capt. Mike Lindbery told The Malibu Times on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after, it was determined that the person was deceased.
The hiker was found on the south side of the sand dune. At this time, details about the hiker and the cause of death remain unknown.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office reported that VCFD was the first to respond.
