How disappointed I felt when I read the Malibu City Council voted to cut the funding for Malibu’s Coastal Vision Organization. I attended one of their meetings held at our Malibu Library. Everyone in attendance was able to express themselves both pro & con on most subjects that involve our Malibu City. This organization is professionally organized by an intelligent workforce, and they have the capability to digest what one is saying concerning subjects of interest about Malibu and condense your words into a one or two sentence statement that everyone in attendance can rate as to the importance of their own interest. I understand that the Vision Staff relays into our City Counsel the subjects discussed. The cross section of people that attend Coastal Vision Meetings will probably never attend or speak at one of your council meetings. I dare say that only 2 percent of Malibu’s citizens will ever attend your Council meeting, let alone speak. Wake up Council and let democracy work.
