Forecast for Dec. 16-29
By Cortney Litwin / Special to The Malibu Times
If you’re feeling unusually restless, rebellious or brilliant this week, you can blame it on the madcap configuration involving the sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus. What’s more, Mercury entering Sagittarius on the 18th can give you the urge to widen your mental or spiritual horizons. Just watch out for retrograde Mercury (Dec. 10-29), which can cause misunderstandings, travel glitches and the need to revise projects started during that time period. Adding to the high energy is the full moon in Gemini on the 21st, which accompanies the winter solstice and energizes communications, multitasking and travel. Then the sun-Pluto conjunction on the 26th will inspire you to get organized and give away stuff you don’t need. Finally, the Mars-Saturn square on the 29th can bring up some fear about moving forward or taking a risk.
If you know your rising sign from your time of birth, read that too.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You may find yourself revising some of your long-term goals so they reflect more of what you perceive as your true destiny. It’s time to envision the larger picture of your direction. A sudden psychic hunch might change your course as well.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Clearing away old attitudes, habits and material junk will free up your emotional life and sexual energy. It’s time to work through emotional issues that keep you stuck. A sudden insight can inspire a profound shift in your inner world that changes your life.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
You’re likely to be caught up in a whirlwind of activities, especially around the time of the full moon in your sign. Partnership endeavors and career projects are particularly empowered, but expect some changes, too.
Cancer (June 22-July 22)
A work project may rocket into the stratosphere or make a dramatic shift in direction, so try to stay flexible. Any feelings you’ve shoved into a corner may resurface around the time of the full moon, a good time to sort through the past.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Never a dull moment with romance, which will be either electrifying or shocking, depending on how you view the thrill of hairpin turns. A brilliant idea may come out of left field as well, although it may be too far out there for some folks.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The urge to change up your home environment may see you undertake a sudden remodeling project. An interaction with a family member may bring a surprising result. And career activities escalate (out of control?) during the full moon.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Your mental energy kicks into high gear now, making it an excellent time to brainstorm, analyze, envision, debate, learn, teach, flirt or promote your ideas. Expect the unexpected if you’re traveling around the time of the full moon.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
The intense focus on your earning power can open a financial door, which will likely involve a risky opportunity accompanied by some turbulence. On a personal level, the full moon energizes intimate encounters.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Your ability to attract opportunities is so strong that you’ll need to be mindful of which ones you’ll consider seriously. Keep in mind your vision of how you’d like to live your life. And the full moon energizes (disrupts?) shared activities with your partner.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Your unconscious is incredibly active now, which can be a tremendous source of healing, creativity and guidance, depending on how in touch you are with your inner life. Pay attention to your intuition and dreams, which can bring valuable insights.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Socializing and networking will open doors-with some unexpected results. Working for a cause can bring satisfaction now, too. And romance kicks into high gear near the time of the full moon, which also brings to life your inner muse.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Your personal growth is accelerating at a fast pace, but you may feel pushed into making decisions and taking action before you’re ready. Take a breath and get in touch with what you really want, without being influenced by do-gooders.
