Actors Joyce DeWitt of the former TV hit series “Threes Company” and Paul Michael Glaser of “Starsky and Hutch” TV fame shared the honors as co-emcees at the 56th installation dinner of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce last Friday at Duke’s Malibu restaurant.
The new slate of chamber officers and directors for 2003-2004 were sworn in by Malibu Mayor Jeff Jennings and included President Ray Craig, owner of Topanga Ranch Motel; immediate past President Mark Olson, of Southern California Edison; President-elect Chris Hasselquist, owner of Malibu Web; Treasurer Mary Yasui-Yamabe of HRL Laboratories; Vice President Christine Rodgerson of Coldwell Banker; Vice President Candace Bowen of Early Bird Productions; and Vice President Lindsay Dunlap from the Ember Entertainment Group.
Other directors include Scully Cloete from Granita; Richard Balsys of Pacific Computer; Corinne Anderson of Calamigos Ranch; Pam Brady of Brady Wellness; Ken Fasola of CM Group; Lisa Huebler of Tierra Rejada Golf Club; Anne Marie McKnight from Pepperdine University; David Reznick of the Malibu Bay Company; Arnold York, publisher of The Malibu Times; Raffi Dermenjian of Memorable Gifts.com; Jeannette Scovill from Charter Communications; and Executive Vice President Catherine Garcia.
Special presentations were made to outgoing President Mark Olson by Malibu Assemblymember Fran Pavley, Maria Leon-Vazquez, president of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board, and by representatives from the offices of state Sen. Sheila Kuehl and County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.
Golden Globe-winning actress Sally Kirkland received a special award for her contribution to the annual Malibu Arts Festival at the Malibu Chamber of Commerce’s 56th Annual Installation Dinner on Friday, March 21 at Dukes in Malibu.
