Ozzie Silna doesn’t live or vote in Malibu. He has tried to buy his way in our city by spending over $100,000 so far on our local election. Remember he made a $100,000 contribution to Urgent Care, gave $25,000, then claimed the Urgent Care Board hadn’t proclaimed what he wanted them to and cancelled his promise. It was in The Malibu Times. The cost of Ozzie’s support is your soul.
At the All Candidates meeting, his puppets Keller, Mazza and Liebig had no goals of their own, only copies of the Council’s goals and criticism, criticism, criticism. To be copied is usually a compliment unless it is a device to confuse the public. Ozzie even decided that they should say they were against the State Coastal Plan and for a local plan. I was at every one of the State Coastal Commission meetings on Malibu. I saw Ozzie Silna lead the charge for a State Coastal Commission Plan for Malibu taking away our local rights. I heard all of his minions testify also.
Liebig served by joining with the Coastal Commission in filing law suits against the city. Remember the voter referendum where 27 percent of our voters signed in ten days asking for a citizen vote. Liebig filed a suit to stop it. To date these suits have cost the city $200,000 of your money and mine. And at one recent All Candidates meeting in the city, Walt was asked if he didn’t want citizen control and a local Malibu Coastal Plan. He stated “not if it is done by this council.”
There you have the motive behind everything going on. Yes they sound like us, copy our goals. Plus, they have a bag full of dirty tricks such as the phone call saying the Council (or was it counsel) wants you to vote for Keller, Mazza, Liebig. That’s big city stuff.
I like the small town way our elections have been run-the interaction with the neighborhoods that knit the town together in common cause and purpose. I urge you, if you want to keep Malibu, Malibu, then vote for Kearsley, Jennings and the new candidate, Ulich.
