Do you think you have what it takes to become a member of the prestigious Malibu Search and Rescue Team?
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team has sent out a call for men and women interested in becoming Search and Rescue Deputies.
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Malibu SAR will be holding a recruiting orientation in Calabasas at 27040 Malibu Hills Road. Requirements for recruits include being at least 21 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, and being able to pass a thorough background check and successfully completing Sheriff Academy. No drug use (with very limited exceptions) and no felony arrests or convictions, guidelines state. Recruits will also preferably live within 20 miles of the Santa Monica Mountains.
