Applications are currently being accepted for openings on the Board of Education’s District Advisory Committees (DAC), according to a release from the Santa Monica- Malibu Unified School District. Completed applications must be turned in to the district office in Santa Monica by July 31.
Applications are being accepted for the following committees: Early Child Care and Development, Health and Safety, Intercultural Equity and Excellence, Special Education, and Visual and Performing Arts. Terms range from one year to four years and allow for a balance of expiring terms each year. “District advisory committees provide a method whereby citizens and educators can understand better the attitudes and opinions that are held in the school-community environment,” a release from the district states. “Such a committee shall have as its purpose improved communication and understanding.”
