The 10.8-acre equestrian ranch across from Paradise Cove known as Sundance Ranch was just purchased by Malibu native Andrew Conrad and his wife, former model Haylynn Cohen, for a discounted rate of $10.5 million, according to Variety. The original asking price for the two-parcel property, just two years ago, was $18 million.

The oceanview horse ranch located at 27580 Winding Way includes a 2,100-square-foot ranch house as well as a 14-stall primary barn, tack rooms, staff quarters, two grooming stations, a large riding rink and a secondary barn with another 10 stalls and covered hay storage.

The original 1953 ranch was once previously owned by Academy Award-winning director George Roy Hill, probably best known for directing “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “The Sting.”

New owner Conrad is a PhD geneticist who founded a research lab that sold for $65 million in 2000. He then joined the life sciences unit of Google X research lab, which later became its own company, named Verily, with Conrad as CEO.

Conrad owns multiple homes, including a second home in the Malibu Colony and an estate on the Hawaiian island of Lanai, now majority owned by Malibu resident Larry Ellison.

Sundance Ranch was sold by Damon Fisher, 49, a co-founder of EdgeLine Capital Partners, and his wife Debbie Fisher, 50, who works with the nonprofit International Medical Corps. The couple bought the main property for about $2.3 million in 2001, public records show, and later added an adjacent vacant parcel of land for about $1.5 million.

Debbie told The Daily Mail they were selling the property because their two high school-aged sons would rather spend their time in the mountains skiing, and that she was the only family member who rode horses. However, she also told The Hollywood Reporter back in 2018 that, “The market is just so hot—now’s the time [to sell].”

Chris Cortazzo of Compass was both the listing and the selling agent.
