Sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor visited MUSE School in Calabasas on Thursday to demonstrate a project that has subjects create casts of themselves for Taylor to later install underwater. The sculptures eventually become artificial coral reefs for sealife to utilize. One of his latest projects is located off of the Mexican coast. MUSE students’ projects will be part of his next project in Lanzarote, Spain.
After the cast was dry, students removed the electronics, leaving an imprint that will be incorporated into a new underwater installation off the coast of Lanzarote, Spain.
