Is your student overwhelmed with homework every night, or does it seem like she never has work to do after school?

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) wants to know how parents feel about the homework assigned to kids every day, and announced this week they are encouraging parents to take a 10-minute online survey to let them know.

“We appreciate all parents taking ten minutes to complete this important annual survey that will help the district and principals evaluate current practices and formulate future homework plans,” Evan Bartelheim, director of assessment, research and evaluation for the SMMUSD, said in a statement provided by the district.

According to the statement, the SMMUSD is seeking parent input in order to help improve and develop homework plans at each school, with the additional goal of “fulfilling the district’s commitment to transparency and collaborative decision-making.”

The survey is available until March 27, 2015.

Results of previous surveys are available on the SMMUSD website by clicking here.

Parents should expect more surveys to come that will continue providing feedback for future improvements to the district, the statement says.
