A two-acre brushfire that was reported at around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening and knocked down roughly 30 minutes later near 1600 Las Virgenes Canyon Road in Agoura Hills was accidental and may have been sparked by live electrical wire during either repair by Southern California Edison officials or a downed power line.

“All we really know at this time is it was accidental, according to the fire department, and possibly cause by a spark in the wire, but no foul play,” Sgt. Del Rio of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said.

The fire cause delays in traffic of approximately two hours, closing the northbound lane of Malibu Canyon Road up to Civic Center Way until that period.
