Malibu resident Ricky Schroder produced a DirecTV original, six-part series “The Fighting Season,” which premiered May 19. Schroder spent time filming in Afghanistan to conceptualize the magnitude of what’s occurring in America’s longest war.
“I wanted to make this series because Afghanistan has been such a part of our culture for the last 13 years. It’s a war against ideology, it’s a war against Islam. Ending a war is complicated,” Schroder said.
