High temperatures and low humidities have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a fire weather watch alert in Malibu, which could be upgraded to a red flag warning between Wednesday evening and Friday afternoon.
The alert and fire watch could also be extended through the weekend, depending on how conditions evolve in the Santa Monica, Ventura County and Los Angeles mountains.
The high in Malibu on Wednesday was listed at 84 degrees and humidity was 33 percent. Temperatures will fluctuate between the mid and high-80s at least through Sunday.
