The Malibu Senior Center hosted a “Funky Chicken” art workshop on Friday. Attendees learned the art of “scumbling” and other painting techniques from Art Trek, Inc. teacher Lorelle Patterson, who often teaches art classes for the City of Malibu. The artists first drew the chicken and then added colors of acrylic paints to fill in the body, adding detail last. Not just for seniors, students of all ages attended this two-hour therapeutic class, creating their own unique “Funky Chicken.” Visit malibucity.org for a list of more activities.
