Getting around town won’t be easy for at least the early part of New Year’s Eve, as heavy winds have caused power outages at several key street lights along Pacific Coast Highway.

The City of Malibu has issued an alert saying L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies are directing traffic on PCH at Heathercliff, Kanan Dume and Zumirez Roads as of 8:45 a.m.

“Motorists should proceed with caution due to reports of power lines and debris in roadways, and signals not functioning due to power outages from high winds,” the alert advises.

There is no estimate as to when power will be restored. At least 2,100 Edison customers are without power due to overnight wind damage to power poles and trees in Malibu.Â
