What is with Beverly Taki? Even when the fire chief told her it was her group that got in the firefighters’ way during the fire and took up space in their staging area, she continued to complain about their response to the Corral Canyon fire. I saw her on television at the Corral Canyon gas station talking to a reporter while fire trucks were trying to get around her and the rest of the people who were told to keep the area clear.
Then she has the nerve to accuse my neighbor, Ken Kearsley, of lying when he said he stayed and tried to save his house. Not true. The Kearsleys not only stayed to save their house, but also helped Maryanne and me save ours. I live directly behind Ken Kearsley, and it was his wife who called to say that my backyard was on fire while sparks were flying all over their backyard. When I went to look, there was Ken Kearsley putting out the sparks in both our yards. Thank you, Barb and Ken Kearsley. Beverly Taki, you owe the Kearsleys and the firefighters an apology.
