The Malibu City Council will consider several options for ways to protect small businesses in Malibu at its regular meeting Oct. 10. The issue of failing small businesses in the city gathered urgency after Trancas Canyon Nursery was threatened with eviction earlier this year. The staff report for the agenda item, titled “Growing and Sustaining Local Community Serving Business,” was released Friday.
The report includes various options for the council to consider implementing in order to help small businesses. The full staff report, with the specific options available for consideration, can be viewed at: http://www.malibucity.org/download/index.cfm/fuseaction/download/cid/17570/.
