The Malibu chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 during its meeting on Nov. 1. The Act made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. After the meeting, Sheila Hill presented the program and served lunch at Via Allegra in Agoura Hills.Â
