Disney’s John Carter is currently playing at Hollywood Theaters Malibu Cinemas, March 9th- March 15th.

John Carter is an epic tale based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ first novel, “A Prince of Mars”; a tale of war and love, and a man’s wild adventure on a planet named “Barsoom.”

John Carter is the direct result of Academy Award winning director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton’s dream and passion to see John Carter of Mars on the big screen. Burroughs’ classic tale was one of Stanton’s favorites growing up.

John Carter was filmed in many different places around the world including 4-5 different locations in the U.K., 7-8 in Utah, and many different locations in Los Angeles, all to depict a realistic environment for the viewer.

It was Andrew Stanton’s enthusiasm and extraordinary work, (WALL E, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, and A Bugs Life) that motivated this ensemble cast to say yes when Stanton broached them with the script. Each actor that I spoke with said that Stanton’s passion for the story was infectious. Lynn Collins couldn’t say enough. “Andrew is a phenomenal human being, an intelligent and intuitive director. I would do anything he asked me to do”

This year will mark the 100th anniversary of Burroughs’ character, John Carter of Mars. Burrough’s is also well know for his jungle hero, Tarzan of the Apes. He is considered an inspiration for many Sci-Fi writers and movies.
