Longtime Carbon Beach resident Carol Lee Meyers died on March 24 at Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica after an unexpected and long hospitalization.
She was born to Stacey Edwin Haines and Mearl Haines (Shoemaker) in Huntington, Ind. She was a lifelong banker, and retired as a vice president of Wells Fargo Bank. After her retirement, she missed the opportunity to be of assistance to her Malibu friends and neighbors, and worked for five years in her favorite calling, as a teller at Bank of America in Malibu. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Burton Meyers, a local attorney; her daughter, Amy Debra Crichton (John), of Seattle, Wash.; her granddaughter, Emma Sage Crichton; her grandson, Reed Charles Allen Crichton; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no services.
“Carol was loving, kind and generous; she will be missed by all who knew her,” a loved one said.
