It was great to get your card and packet of gum yesterday. Mail is really a morale boost and since we came into Iraq, it’s been slow coming. It’s starting to catch up. We haven’t been able to call home since we left Kuwait and only a couple of guys have radios to get news, which we look forward to hear about the war’s progress. We’re in the town of AnNajaf preparing to continue our movement north. Everyone is doing well, considering, and you’d be amazed at the ability of the U.S. soldier to adapt to living under extreme harsh conditions. The sand, sun and heat are challenges. It certainly makes you long for the cool breezes and waters of Malibu. Besides family, everyone’s other favorite topic is food! We’re fine and hopefully will be home soon. Thanks for writing.

Our adopted Gators really appreciate all of the beautiful people in Malibu who have taken time from their busy days to write. If you would like a soldier pen pal while they are still in Iraq, please call Leslie Schwarz at 456-3739.
