On Friday, Sept. 6, the Malibu Surfing Association kicks off the MSA Classic Invitational with the Malibu Noseriding Championship at California’s historic First Point at Surfrider Beach in Malibu.
The contest will put 48 men and women to the test to see who can log the most time riding the nose of a surfboard, while also being judged on precision and form. The contest is expected to host professional and amateur surfers from around the world.
This is the second year the event has been held since its inception last year.
“This year’s championship will maintain the quality and set the standard for the best loggers the world over,” said MSA president John Hinkle.Â
The Malibu Noseriding Championship is part of the MSA Classic Invitational, which is scheduled from Sept. 6-8 at First Point, was first hosted by MSA at Surfrider Beach in 1963. The MSA was formed in 1961 and is one of California’s first surfing clubs. Event viewing is free and open to the public. For additional contest information log on to msaclassic.com.
