The Pepperdine Waves are 6-1 to start off the young season with the only hiccup coming against St. Johns in their season opener.

Taking two of three against St. Johns to start the season, the Waves went on to defeat the Long Beach Dirtbags six to three then followed that up with a three game series sweep against Utah Valley. In the third game of that series, Aaron Brown hit a three run walk off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning for the Waves.

Brown, outfielder and left handed pitcher for Pepperdine, has also been one of the team’s most productive players. Going 9-12 in his first three games of the season, Brown leads the team in rbi’s and total bases.

“He just competes. He’s a very good athlete and he’s very competitive and wants to be out there. It’s nice to watch him go out and be as aggressive as he is. He’s one I never have to worry about being ready to go,” Coach Steve Rodriguez said in a press release after the series against St. Johns.

Pepperdine should enjoy their upcoming road series because they travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on the Rainbow Warriors in a four game series.Â
