Chamber, Realtors to Host Malibu City Council Election Forum

The Malibu Chamber of Commerce and the Malibu Association of Realtors are sponsoring a City Council Candidate Forum on Thurs., March 20, from 6 to 9 p.m, for the five candidates running to fill two seats on the Malibu City Council. 

The event, scheduled to take place at HRL Laboratories on Malibu Canyon Road, will help the two professional associations determine which candidates will best protect and promote local businesses, according to a release.

The Chamber of Commerce represents 360 business members and the Malibu Association of Realtors represents more than 700 real estate professionals. Together, the two groups have a vested interest in commercial policies put forth by the City Council.

This year’s candidates include June Louks, Hamish Patterson, Andy Lyon and incumbents Lou La Monte and Laura Rosenthal. The forum comes a couple of weeks before Malibu’s municipal elections, slated for April 8.
