Planning Commissioners gave the go-ahead Monday on plans to implement a three-hour parking limit on 29 parking spaces located in Malibu’s Civic Center on Cross Creek between Pacific Coast Highway and Civic Center Way. The limitation will be enforced seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City staff hopes the new limitations will free up more parking spaces during peak hours and increase public access to prime parking in the city’s hub. An October 2012 survey by the city showed that over nine days, 41 cars parked in the same areas on Cross Creek for “extended periods of time,” according to staff.
