Two arrested for DUI at checkpoint

Two people were arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence at a checkpoint in Malibu Saturday night. In addition to the DUI arrests, two people were arrested on warrants and 13 driver’s license citations were given out. A total of 1,653 cars passed through the checkpoint, while 1,127 drivers were contacted and six field sobriety tests were administered, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

The checkpoint took place at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Las Flores Canyon Road from 7:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. It was conducted by deputies from the Malibu/ Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
