Dense, patchy fog will loom over Malibu this weekend, as the National Weather Service (NWS) reports cool temperatures are in store for the first weekend of May.

Fog should dissipate in the early afternoon on Saturday and the high temperature is predicted around 65 degrees, with moderate west winds reaching up to 10 mph.

Similar weather patterns are in the forecast for Sunday, with a high temperature of 63 degrees.

Evening temperatures will stay around 58 degrees throughout the weekend.

A hazardous weather statement has been issued for south-facing beaches as a large groundswell that generated south east of New Zealand breaks waves beginning Saturday evening. Powerful rip currents and swells up to 10-feet are predicted along the shores.
