Vintner Gabriel Farraj’s Mission San Gabriel Arcángel was once a winery. He serves grape juice and grapes to vistors.

Our Lady of Malibu School’s fourth-grade class, led by teacher Ruth Marsden, presented California Mission projects. Each student chose a character to portray to teach visitors about their missions, preparing a written script describing life at the mission, which incorporated information from the research outline. Dressed in character, each participant made a brief presentation to OLM students, family and friends who stopped by to see the finished products. Students gave visitors some type of “souvenir” food that was grown or prepared at the mission, mission products (candles) or some other representation of life at the mission. The students worked on their projects for six weeks. “I am so very proud of the effort, creativity and knowledge evident in the projects and character presentations of every student,” Marsden shared. “They have far exceeded my expectations — the imagination of these students knows no bounds.”
