GO GREEN

From Sir Elton’s viewing party to the Vanity Fair bash, Oscar time is party time and locals turned out in force for the festivities. “Avatar” director James Cameron and wife Suzy Amis started the celebration early at Avalon Hollywood. The high profile pair hosted Global Green’s 7th Annual Pre-Oscar party, joining Malibu neighbors Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Grenier as well as Spice Girl Mel B, movie cutie Jessica Alba, “Doogie” doc Neil Patrick Harris and weird beard music man Billy Gibbons.

Guests got a sneak peak of the new Chevy Volt plug-in electric car as well as the eco-friendly “red carpet green dress” that Suzy picked for the Academy Awards.

The swinging fling also featured a jamming set by Argentinean Mia Maestro, and Benji and Joel Madden of “Good Charlotte.”

Rocking Juliette Lewis couldn’t help but get in the groove. As the party kicked into high gear, she took the stage with Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch and ZZ Top’s Billy for a surprise performance.

The theme for this year’s event was “Greener Cities for a Cooler Planet.” The green carpet affair was a mix of Oscar merriment and a planet-friendly message. “By raising awareness about the threats poised by climate change and by holding our corporate and political leaders accountable, we can make a real difference,” said Global Green USA prez Matt Petersen. “Americans must do something about climate change. We can start by building green buildings, green schools and green cities that create green jobs, save money and improve our health.”

Proceeds from the starry shindig benefit Global Green’s initiatives to promote smart solutions for climate change.

‘BU DANCING

“Baywatch” beauty Pamela Anderson is about to follow in the fancy footsteps of Malibu neighbors Brooke Burke and Jane Seymour. Pam will slip out of her swimsuit and step into a slew of glitzy get ups as she takes a turn on “Dancing with the Stars.”

The 42-year-old actress teams up with pro Damian Whitewood for the 10th season of the red-hot dance-off. Jane gave it her all a few years back, Brooke waltzed off with the top prize in season seven and just landed the show’s hosting gig.

In keeping with tradition, the “Dancing with the Stars” line-up offers a wide range of well-known names, with everyone from athletes to astronauts making the cut.

Hopeful hoofers include wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, ESPN babe Erin Andrews, limelight lovin’ reality star Kate Gosselin, Bev Hills bad girl Shannen Doherty, “Reno 911” cop Niecy Nash and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Apollo 11 crewmember Buzz Aldrin may have done the outer space moonwalk back in 1969, but how will the octogenarian handle Michael Jackson’s version before a live studio audience? You never know when it comes to DWTS. The celebrated spaceman describes his dance on the moon as a “piece of cake.” In any case, the entertainment should be out of this world.

The strutting and shuffling begins March 22.
