The Malibu Library Speak Series will continue on Wednesday, April 22 with a live painting performance by L.A.-based artist David Garibaldi. Garibaldi is known for combining the raw energy of street dancing with graffiti, painting portraits of rock stars, historic figures and other icons in front of live audiences.
During his performance at Malibu City Hall’s Civic Theater, Garibaldi will complete four paintings onstage. He will also speak about his journey from high school dropout to opening for the Blue Man Group and Snoop Dogg and regularly painting during halftime at NBA games.
The Malibu Library Speaker Series is a program of the County of Los Angeles Public Library, Malibu Branch, and the City of Malibu which features talks by experts on a wide range of subjects, including education, arts, literature, science, sports and more.Â
The event is free and open to the public and will include refreshments as well as a Q&A with Garibaldi after his performance. RSVPs are required to attend. Contact  Community Library Manager Melissa Stallings for more information at 310.456.6438. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. at the Civic Theater, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd.
