USS John Paul Jones heads to Hawaii for her new home port.

The USS John Paul Jones will depart from California for its forward-deployed new home port in Hawaii on August 11. The President of the Malibu Navy League, Captain John Payne, presented a restored portrait of John Paul Jones to the sailors of the ship. The portrait will be hung in the crew’s dining area with a commemorative plaque, recognizing the work of Jones.

The USS John Paul Jones was the ship that made a port call to Malibu in 2011. She docked in Malibu for the beginning of a three-day celebration of Navy Days, designed to thank the sailors and their families for their service to the country.
