Malibu Seen: Locals Save Legendary Eatery

Pastrami and slaw will be served up by Malibu’s supermodel mom and hubby.

Longtime Malibu beauty Cindy Crawford and her impresario husband Rande Gerber have come to the rescue of one of Hollywood’s longtime industry haunts.

It was a favorite of everyone from Larry King and the late, great Sammy Davis Jr. I practically grew up in the joint with its shiny red vinyl booths, Formica tables and old time servers with their Marge Simpson purple hair piled up like a towering a salami sandwich on their heads.

Nate ‘n Al’s is a legendary Tinseltown deli in Beverly Hills and also boasts the best Hollywood sandwich (moist and warm rye bread, melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, creamy cold slaw and Russian dressing) and Reuben (perfectly grilled rye, melt-in-your-mouth corned beef, a slice of cheese topped with tangy sauerkraut). And yes, all of course are sky high.

Oh, and if those walls could talk of the deals that were done!

The Hollywood haunt faced an uncertain future since early 2018.

So music moguls Irving and Shell Azoff stepped up to the plate and served up a rescue plan along with their celebrity pals.

The 73-year-old Hollywood hang may have to relocate into a new space in the neighborhood. The chow is sure to be good. Let’s hope the purple haired ladies stick around, too. Next!

TV TIME

Make your plans for Paley Fest where you can get up close and personal with television’s biggest stars at the Dolby Theater. The lineup is one of the best in years.

It kicks off March 15 with the smash hit “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Down the line you can check out the stars of “Grace and Frankie” and my personal fave, an evening with comedy king Steven Colbert, who appears on March 16. Gotta green thumb? “Parks and Recreation” will hold a reunion.

For something out of this world, there is “Star Trek: Discovery” as well as a special preview of “The Twilight Zone.” For something a little kinky, you can get the low down on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Other couch potatoes can enjoy “The Walking Dead,” ‘Hawaii Five-O,” “MacGyver” and “Magnum P.I.”

There is something for everyone so get off the couch and and meet the peeps in person.
