Planning Commissioner John Sibert clinched third place in the City Council race this afternoon following a count of the remaining absentee and provisional ballots at City Hall. Sibert joins top vote getter Pamela Conley Ulich and Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner as winners of this year’s election. They will be installed on the council at a meeting on Monday.
Sibert has a 27-vote lead over Board of Education member Kathy Wisnicki. There are still 17 provisional ballots needing signature approval from the county before they can be counted. Deputy City Clerk Kelsey Bealer said she expects to hear from the county tomorrow.
The vote count as of this afternoon is Conley Ulich (2,115), Wagner (1,686), Sibert (1,419), Wisnicki (1,392) and Susan Tellem (1,163).
