Updated: Eastbound Lanes at PCH and Rambla Pacifico Blocked Due to Overturned Vehicle

[Update: 7:49 p.m.]: All lanes on Pacific Coast Highway have been reopened as of approximately 7:30 p.m., according to the City of Malibu. 

The eastbound lanes were blocked by a traffic collision near Rambla Pacifico, which resulted in an overturned vehicle, around 5 p.m. Another collision took place nearby, in the 22200 block of PCH at Carbon Beach around 7:20 p.m., according to the city.


[Update: 6:10 p.m.]: According to Inspector David Michael with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, two vehicles were involved in a traffic collision with a “one vehicle roll over.”

Fire department personnal were dispatched at 5:04 p.m. and were on the scene by 5:14 p.m.

A total of seven people were involved and suffered minor injuries. All of them were “transported by ground units” to the hospital.

An alert from the City of Malibu placed the incident in the 23300 block of Pacific Coast Highway. The estimated time of reopening for the eastbound lanes is currently unknown.

Both of the eastbound lanes on Pacific Coast Highway near Las Flores Canyon Road are blocked due to an incident resulting in an overturned vehicle. Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station received a call about the incident at 5:03 p.m., according to Sgt. Escalante. 

“Eastbound traffic is being is being directed through the center median,” he said in a phone call with The Malibu Times. He added that “they’re off to the hospital”—it’s unclear how many victims were involved.

The car was overturned near La Costa Beach at PCH.
