Malibu’s name remains one of the most coveted in the real estate game, as a recent real estate report ranked the town’s 90265 ZIP code as one of the country’s most expensive places to live.
The “Luxury Market Report 2013,” the third annual report released by Coldwell Banker Previews International, assessed 2012 luxury home listings and transactions throughout the country. It ranks Malibu number one in its list of 2012’s top U.S. ZIP codes with the highest number of $10 million+ luxury home listings, totaled at 65. Malibu beat out cities such as Aspen (54 listings), Bel Air (58 listings) and Miami Beach (29 listings).
Six of the 10 top cities with the most $10 million listings are in California: Malibu, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Montecito, Laguna Beach and Atherton.Â
Malibu also placed seventh out of 10 in Coldwell’s list of 2012’s top U.S. ZIP codes with seven home sales totaling $10 million or more and third out of 10 in home sales of $5 million or more, totaled at 43.
“Today’s ultra-affluent buyers can choose almost any property they want, whether it’s a penthouse in South beach, a house in Monaco or a waterfront estate in Malibu,” Coldwell board members Budge Huskey and Betty Graham wrote.
