A 20 percent chance of rain is predicted in Malibu on Friday evening and temperatures will reach up to 68 degrees this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Calm winds will sweep the coast on Saturday, with an anticipated high of 67 degrees and a low temperature around 62 degrees.
Early morning fog should dissipate around 10 a.m. on Sunday, bringing sun to the shore with an expected high temperature around 68 degrees. Cooler conditions are expected Sunday evening, with a low temperature of 61 degrees.
The City of Malibu hosts a Winter Showcase at the Malibu Civic Center, with performances by The Malibu String Academy, the Zuma Ensemble and senior choir on Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.
LA County Department of Public Works and the Sanitation District of LA County will host a hazardous waste and e-waste recycling event at Malibu Civic Center on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 9 a.m.
Children can listen to Miss Grace from Malibu’s Under the Oaks Preschool during story time at 10:30 a.m. at Bank of Books on Saturday, Dec. 6, followed by book signings with Kathryn Flynn Galan at 12 p.m. and Mark Bailey at 2 p.m.
Our Lady of Malibu will host a Christmas Marketplace with Santa, a Christmas tree lighting and array of gifts on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7.
Also on Saturday, experience the full moon with a night hike and observe how animals transition from fall to winter at Charmlee Wilderness Park on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
