The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for critical fire conditions in the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area from early Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon.
Citing high offshore winds and dry weather, the NWS warned of the potential for rapidly spreading wildfires should any dry brush spark. Humidity is expected to dip into the teens late Monday night.
The red flag warning took effect at 6 a.m. on Monday and is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.Â
Temperatures in Malibu are expected to remain the 60s throughout Monday, hitting a high of 69 degrees. Sunset is at 4:46 p.m.Â
