Tickets are on sale now for the Safety Harbor Kids 9th Annual Polo Classic, which will be held on Sept. 9. The classic will feature an afternoon of polo and performances from Dream World Cirque and Grammy Award-winning singer Albert Lee. The event will also serve gourmet food, open bar, red carpet, cabanas and VIP area, high tea and gift bags.
Safety Harbor Kids’ mission is to break the cycle of homelessness, poverty and imprisonment that plagues disadvantaged children. The nonprofit focuses on enriching children’s collegiate and professional careers, and participation in the arts.
Founder John WIlliams grew up as a struggling youth who fought to survive and go to school. He vowed to obtain success and to then help other underprivileged children.
The organization wrote that without community support, “80 percent of foster children will become homeless and 60 percent will end up in prison.” The Polo Classic serves as an entertaining day that can greatly impact the lives of poverty-stricken children.
