It smells like smoke in Malibu this morning.
Air is thick.
That’s smoke from the Holy Jim fire …. 60 miles east … at Santiago Peak … Orange County. The National Weather Service in Oxnard has issued a Heat Advisory in effect until 8 o’clock tonight.
High temperatures will range from the 80s at the beaches to around 95 in L A … and up to 103 in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Big waves are here too.
Surf will peak at 4 to 7 feet today through Saturday… then slowly subside late Saturday and Saturday night.
High tides between 7.0 to 7.5 feet are expected during the 8 o’clock hour , and Saturday evening at around 9.

The owners of a house … protected by an illegal seawall …were hit with a fine of one million dollars and ordered to tear immediately tear down the sea wall.

Houses are threatened in Lake Elsinore. … along Ortega Highway … and west oft he 15 freeway.
A third firefighter has been killed at the Carr fire near Redding.
He fell asleep at the wheel.
That’s the eighth victim.
50 percent containment at the gigantic Mendocino Fires up north.
At the Ferguson Fire near Yosemite … good news …it’s now 80 percent contained.
Yosemite Valley remains closed.
No fires are burning in LA County … but that fire in Orange Ciounty was visible on the horizon last night from Malibu.
