The U-S Army Corps of Engineers plan to remove Rindge Dam is back on the agenda for the California Coastal Commission.

The historic old Sears Department store sits at the end of the Santa Monica Freeway … a monument to a failed retail giant that was the Amazon of the 18th Century.
The California Coastal Commission will neext month hear plans by a developer to convert the old store into a retail center … in the midst of a glut of retail space in Malibu and Santa Monica.
The basement and first floor would be converted to combined food-service and retail … what the developer calls ”culinary retail.”
An identicial concept was tried two years ago on the top floor of the Santa Monica Place mall across the street.
It flopped.
The Sears project also includes converting the second and third floor to office space.

But it will be (((( cold and windy )))) today … highs around (((( 60 )))) degrees today on the beach and in the mountains above Malibu.
Winds will be blowing over the mountains at up to ((( 25 )))) miles per hour today.
Sunset tonight is at (((( 5:44 )))).
After that … expect it to be ((( windy and very cold )))) tonight … a low of (((( 38 )))) on the beach … down to (((( 32 )))) in the canyons.
Tomorrow should be (((( cold … with frost possible in the morning. )))).
In the ocean … it’s (((( 56 )))) degrees in the water at Zuma Beach.
The lifeguards say the waves today are (((( 1 to 3 )))) feet high ….
(((( -There is a small new WNW swell … and a wind swell may show up late. ))))
Those are (((( poor to fair )))) surfing conditions …. according to the lifeguards.
((((( Low tide is at 10:08 this morning.
There is a minor high tide … at 4:33 this afternoon.
Another low tide at 8:45 tonight … and there is a 6 point 5 foot high tide tonight at 3:40 in the morning. ))))
