Lodges a complaint

On behalf of my wife and myself, I am writing with interest in the proposed 32-room Forge Lodge project as a concerned citizen and a design professional. The amount of time and expense that the owners, Daniel and Luciana Forge, have invested in this project seems unconstitutional. We live in the “land of the free,” which allows opportunity and dreams to become a reality unlike most other countries in the world. Fortunately, we the people have a voice, and a vote in the guidelines of law that govern our land.

We believe this project represents a serious problem in inappropriate jurisdictional powers and wasteful spending of the taxpayer dollars in many ways. We, like most rational people, are concerned with preserving our environment, wildlife and the beauty of nature. Throughout all of history, the human race has been made up of social beings requiring structures to inhabit. When a settlement already exists and the laws that govern personal property already permit, as was approved for a grander scale Forge Lodge project back in the early 1980’s, we must now investigate why the project has not been allowed to be completed. An investigation to help insure, maintain and keep in check ultimately the due process of law.

If the primary objection to the project is based on the upset of nature in the area, we must remember that developed land is no longer left in its natural state, man has altered virgin terrain with structures of architecture, landscape, and/or hardscape. If the extinction of animal or plant life would result due to development, then development must be challenged to provide a solution allowing truly endangered life to live on.

Thank you for allowing our point of view. I hope the future holds a place for citizens, private enterprise and government agencies alike to reevaluate the entire jurisdictional parameters and approval process of city land development.
