Luciana S. Forge

May 1, 1923 – March 9, 2017

Luciana S. Forge, 93, of Malibu, passed on March 9, 2017, of natural causes.

Luciana was born in Florence, Italy on May 1, 1923. She was trained as an opera singer in Rome since the age of 10 to become a professional soprano, earning the nickname “Stella” by her late brother and accompanist, Mario. After a long singing tour in South America, she arrived in the States to visit her sister and brother-in-law, Anna Maria and Mario Angelini, who introduced her to Daniel Forge. They wed shortly after and were married for 59 wonderful years.

In the early 1960s, Luciana and Daniel opened many successful restaurants including L’Auberge, Cafe Brasserie, La Romana and Pupi’s Pastries, to name a few. They landed in Malibu after retirement to open “Beau Rivage,” which they ran until just a few years ago. She loved to work at the Beau Rivage and often could be persuaded to sing for guests. She was a talented artist who loved color, a passionate gardener and had a great sense of humor. She was well known in the community for the many hours spent nurturing the beautiful flowers surrounding Beau Rivage for all to enjoy.

“Luciana will be missed by all who knew and loved her,” a loved one said.

Luciana is survived by her husband, Daniel Forge; her sister, Anna Maria Angelini; and her son, Michel Forge; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Luciana is preceded in death by her parents, Vincento and Ersilia; her brothers, Luciano Sodani, Antonio Sodani, Mario Sodani, Luciano Sodani, and Silvano Sodani; her son, Richard Forge; and her grandson, Tracy Forge.

The funeral services were held at Our Lady Of Malibu on Tuesday, March 21.
