Motorcyclist injured in crash


A motorcyclist was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on Pacific Coast Highway near Paradise Cove, Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department officials confirmed. The motorcycle was traveling westbound on the highway about 350 feet west of Paradise Cove Road when a car in the left lane moved into the right lane and struck the motorcycle. The motorcyclist suffered a compound fracture of the left leg and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Traffic safety near Paradise Cove has been a growing concern of many local residents. At the July 23 City Council meeting, Public Safety Commission representative David Saul expressed concern over weekend and summer traffic in the area, while Councilwoman Joan House agreed, echoing residents’ worries about severe car backups occurring frequently during peak hours.
