The Adamson House, located off of Pacific Coast Highway between the Malibu Lagoon and Malibu Pier, marked 85 years since it was constructed.

Malibu’s Adamson House Foundation is recruiting volunteers to be trained as docents for conducting tours of the historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum.

An intensive seven-week training course begins on Tuesday, March 17, with weekly three-hour sessions through Wednesday, April 28.

Docent trainees will learn how to effectively conduct a tour, the history of the house and museum, and hear from expert speakers. Selected docents should be able to commit to at least eight hours per month conducting tours of the grounds; additional volunteer opportunities are always available.

Built in 1930 by Rhoda Rindge Adamson and Merritt Adamson, the Spanish Colonial revival house features original Malibu Potteries tiles and family furnishings from 1930 through the 1960s.
