Four suspects were arrested after breaking into Duke’s restaurant and assaulting a cleaning crew member around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.

The suspects allegedly entered Duke’s through the kitchen while a cleaning crew was working and assaulted one male worker with a piece of metal.

“Three masked suspects came in and hit a male cleaning crew member in the head,” Lt. James Royal with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station said. “The suspects left in a white Mercedes SUV.”

As deputies were responding to the disturbance call, three suspects fled from the parking lot of Duke’s to a white Mercedes SUV that had been waiting on the westbound side of PCH, narrowly escaping running into a FOX11 news van.

An alert was broadcast to deputies, describing the vehicle with paper license plates heading westbound on PCH. Deputies spotted the vehicle and suspects near Malibu Canyon and PCH.

“A vehicle and suspects matching the description were detained through a felony traffic stop based on the car and suspects descriptions,” Royal said.

Three male suspects and one female suspect were arrested on assault charges.
