Water will be shut off to residents and businesses located along Pacific Coast Highway between Topanga Canyon Blvd. and Las Flores Canyon Rd. from 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, through 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, for a valve replacement on the water main, according to an alert issued by the City of Malibu.

According to authorities with L.A. County Waterworks District 29, notices went out to affected residents on Friday, March 13, and again on Sunday.

The City of Malibu has sent notice that this outage will affect 60 customers.

District 29’s work will include a “valve replacement on its 30-inch water transmission main located along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) between 19400 PCH and 20600 PCH,” according to the city’s advisory.

Waterworks urges all Malibu customers to enlist in its automated notification program to receive alerts about work that will affect their area by calling 877.637.3661 and selecting option 2 from the menu, dropping by the office located in the Civic Center or faxing information to 310.317.4674.

Water in five-gallon jugs will be available to residents who request them by calling Waterworks District 29 at the number provided.

A previous version of this story said the outage would be from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. It has been changed to reflect an updated alert from the City of Malibu.
