A desert cottontail rabbit was recently rescued from the Saddleridge Fire in the San Fernando Valley and is currently under the care of the California Wildlife Center. The patient came in suffering from “blisters in the ears, eye injuries, an abrasion on the nose and singed fur,” according to a post from the wildlife center. As of Monday, she was receiving pain medicine and antibiotics. It was not clear if she would be able to be released, due to injuries on her eyes and ears, but the center was working to help her heal with the goal of eventual release.
