The 24th Annual Malibu Pie Festival will take place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the courtyard of the Malibu United Methodist Church. General admission is free for both participants and guests.
Pie-bakers of all ages will enter their homemade creations in multiple categories. The pies will be will be judged by Malibu business and civic leaders as well as celebrities, with the winner receiving a blue ribbon.Â
Children—and maybe and adult or two—can participate in a hands-free pie eating contest later in the day. Festival-goers will also be able to try homemade pie throughout out the day and get lunch from one of the food trucks that will be a the venue.
The festival will also host a wide-range of activities including a live music show featuring “The Melvin Eddy Blues Band” and “Naomi Warne.” There will also be a local talent showcase hour with an appearance from the “Sposato Brothers.”
A wide variety of gift baskets will also be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the Malibu United Methodist’s children, youth and family programs and community service projects.Â
